Picnic Day 2018: College Events

College of Letters and Science at Picnic Day 2018

Come celebrate with us and experience the richness of diversity and achievement at UC Davis and the surrounding community in the areas of research, teaching, service and campus life. More than 200 events will take place throughout campus and will include exhibits, shows, competitions, demonstrations, entertainment, animal and athletic events, the Student Organization Fair, the Children’s Discovery Fair, the Parade and much more.

All events and parking are free! Picnic Day is one of UC Davis’ most revered traditions and serves as the university’s annual Open House for prospective and current students, families, alumni, staff, faculty, and the greater Davis and regional communities. L&S Events

The College hosts its own exciting events, presentations and exhibitions on Picnic Day, including the wildly popular Chemistry Show, the annual Fashion Show, free performances by the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, and hands-on activities in geology, physics, math and stats.

Anthropalooza!

“Impression/Expression” Fashion Show

The student-run Fashion and Design Society’s annual runway show is one of the day’s hottest tickets. This year’s show features 19 original student-designed and executed collections that boldly move fashion into new realms.

This year’s brief program includes works by Beethoven, Elgar and Mahler.
