History Professors Receive Graduate Mentoring Fellowships

Three history professors are among the four recipients of this year's Wakeham Mentoring Fellowships from UC Davis. The honor is given to faculty and their mentees to support the exploration of mentoring best practices. Up to five $10,000 fellowships are awarded annually.

The 2019-2020 Wakeham Mentoring Fellowship recipients include:

  • Lorena Oropeza, professor of history. Together with her four mentees, Oropeza will work on mentoring approaches toward mapping a future career in history.
  • José Juan Pérez Meléndez, assistant professor of history, and Marian Schlotterbeck, associate professor of history. Working with 11 mentees, Pérez Meléndez and Scholtterbeck will develop workshops, networking opportunities and events focused on professional skills.
