Support the College of Letters and Science on Give Day 2020 | April 17-18
What is Give Day?
Give Day is a 29-hour online, grassroots fundraising drive to help support UC Davis students, faculty, and university programs. It is held each year in conjunction with Picnic Day, starting at 12 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Your Generosity Supports Student Learning In and Out of the Classroom
The College of Letters and Science is the heart of UC Davis. We are the largest and most diverse of the campus’s four colleges with more than 14,000 undergraduate students, of whom 44% are first generation and 37% are underrepresented minorities. Our commitment to inclusivity and access has earned us a No. 3 ranking among U.S. universities “doing the most for the American Dream,” according to The New York Times' College Access Index.
Of course, access is just the first step to ensuring success for our students. Some of the most profound and lasting student experiences happen beyond the classroom, which is why your gift on Give Day matters more than ever. Students who pursue these co-curricular experiences not only benefit in their journey toward successful careers, but also develop critical skills as global citizens.
What are Challenges?
Challenges are specific funding opportunities backed by a donor who has already made a substantial donation. Reaching a certain number of gifts to that challenge will allow that gift to be “unlocked” and drop into the donation fund. Approximately 75% of gifts that come in during Give Day are linked to challenge gifts.
Help Us Activate Challenge Gifts
This year, we are offering challenges for every department across the College. We also offer challenges that support special initiatives and experiences outside the classroom.
