Alumna Anthropologist and Media Scholar Receives MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant

UC Davis alumna Mary L. Gray, an anthropologist and media scholar who investigates how labor, identity and human rights are transformed by the digital economy, has been named a 2020 MacArthur Fellow. Gray (B.A., anthropology and Native American studies, ’92) is one of 21 fellows announced Oct. 6 by the MacArthur Foundation.

UC Davis Creative Writing Series Expands Online

The Creative Writing Program of the UC Davis Department of English is expanding its reading series with online and in-person readings by visiting writers, creative writing Master of Fine Arts candidates, lecturers in the Creative Writing Program, and projects created in collaboration with art and music students.  

Professor Sarah Stewart named MacArthur Fellow

Sarah Stewart, professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, has been honored with a 2018 MacArthur Fellowship. She is the fourth MacArthur Fellow from the College of Letters and Science and the second in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.
