STaR Recommended Schedule for Bachelor of Science
Placements for your Major
- Math (Required) -- You will most likely be required to take a calculus series (MAT 17, 19, or 21) for a Bachelor of Science, so all students considering a Bachelor of Science should take the Math Readiness Assessment. It is also recommended for students considering pre-health preparation.
- Chemistry (Strongly Recommended) -- Many science majors will require the general chemistry (CHE 2) series. If you are considering a major that requires chemistry or you are interested in pre-health preparation, it's highly recommended that you take the Chemistry placement.
- Computer Science (Not Recommended) -- This placement applies to ECS 36A which is restricted to specific majors only. If you are planning to pursue a major that requires programing, we recommend enrolling in ECS 32A.
- Language (Recommended) -- Although a foreign language is not required for Bachelor of Science degrees, we recommend taking the Language placement now in case you choose to double major in--a Bachelor of Arts degree.
