College Ambassadors Program Application

The Ambassadors of Letters and Science (ALAS) program welcomes applications from enthusiastic and committed students. The process to become a member of the Ambassadors of Letters and Science (ALAS) program is competitive, and includes an application and interview. New members are selected each winter/spring to join ALAS for the upcoming academic year.

Qualifications

Current UC Davis student studying a major within the College of Letters and Science and attending the next academic year at UC Davis. At least one year of experience at UC Davis by the start of the academic year of commitment. Cumulative UC GPA of 3.00 or higher. Knowledge of campus resources and willingness to exemplify the UC Davis Principles of Community.

Expectations

  • Represent the College of Letters and Science to prospective students and families, peers, and community members through events, presentations, tours, social media, and more
  • Participate in biweekly and monthly team meetings
  • Contribute to various projects in social media, event planning, workshop development, and more
  • Engage in College outreach, recruitment, and community building events
  • Lead a first-year seminar in the College during Winter quarter
  • Participate in an annual Fall training retreat (or more, as needed)
  • Commit to at least three quarters of service (one full academic year) (~20 hours of service per quarter)
  • Dress and/or present themselves in a professional and respectful manner as Ambassadors of the College
