Bio

Kelly Van Zandt is an Academic Advisor in the College of Letters and Science. She holds a B.A. degree from UC Irvine in Social Science. She also holds a M.S. in Counseling from San Francisco State University.

She started at UC Davis in 2018 as First- and Second-Year Advisor and Transition Specialist in University Honors Program. Prior to UC Davis, she held various roles at UC Merced working closely with underrepresented minority and first-generation students. 

Kelly is an advocate of diversity, equity and inclusion and currently serves on the Advising for Equity Administrative Advisory Committee.  Kelly’s personal philosophy of advising is to listen to understand, support to grow and advise to teach.

Outside of the office, Kelly enjoys hiking, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
