Maggy Krell currently serves as Planned Parenthood’s chief counsel and brings extensive legal experience to the UC Davis Government and Public Policy Alumni Group. At Planned Parenthood, Ms. Krell provides legal and strategic advice to the CEO and Board of Directors on a wide range of state and federal policy issues, manages the organization’s litigation, and oversees the legal and health center affairs teams. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, Ms. Krell was a prosecutor for 15 years, starting as a deputy district attorney before moving up the ranks at the attorney general’s office. She has prosecuted everything from white-collar crime to murder, but is best known for her work combatting human trafficking, including the successful prosecution of owners of a notorious website who knowingly raked in millions of dollars from sex trafficking. Ms. Krell received her Juris Doctorate from UC Davis School of Law and completed her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego.
