The minor in Iran and Persian Studies allows students to uncover the history and diasporas of the peoples of Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan as well as other users of Persian, and contextualize these cultures and societies within the region of West Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia. With an interdisciplinary curriculum, the minor will enrich students’ knowledge on topics that impact contemporary issues within the Persian speaking world, including trade, gender relations, immigration, economic development, and socio-political conflicts.
