The minor in Arab Studies covers an area of utmost historical, cultural, economic, and geopolitical significance, spanning thousands of miles and across continents. Students will uncover the history and diasporas of Arabic-speaking peoples of West Asia and North Africa as well as other users of Arabic. As an interdisciplinary minor, students will choose courses that cover several key subject areas: philosophy, literature, politics, history, culture, and religion. Several key contemporary issues make the region as a whole a focus of interest for scholarly study.
