Readmission
College of Letters & Science Readmission Philosophy
We (your academic advisors in the College of Letters and Science Undergraduate Education and Advising), are here to help. We want to acknowledge that the readmission process can be confusing. We are here to support you and your return to UC Davis. The readmission process is designed to help identify issues and concerns that you have and to receive targeted advising, resource referrals, and support in your return to UC Davis.
What is Readmission?
Readmission is the process for any student who has been away from UC Davis for one or more academic quarters, who withdrew, were dismissed, or were suspended from the university and therefore needs to apply to return to the university. Please note: the readmission process is separate from PELP, and has different requirements. The readmission process is different than the admission application you completed when applying to UC Davis. Instead, this process will focus on setting you up for success upon your return for your first quarter back.
Readmission & Academic Standing
Academic standing may impact the next steps to your readmission application. If you left UC Davis not in good standing, we may require meeting with the College of Letters & Science Undergraduate Education Office to discuss readmission.
Applying for Readmission
If you are interested in applying for readmission, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Review the Registrar’s Office website
- Step 2: Contact the Dean’s Office to schedule an advising appointment if you left UC Davis not in good academic standing
- Step 3: Apply for readmission by the deadline for your intended quarter
- Step 4: We recommend you obtain an updated academic plan from your major advisor or intended major advisor
- Step 5: Check and resolve for any active holds. Readmission applications cannot be approved with active holds.
- Step 6: If you intend to receive Financial Aid, contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships office.
Important Notes about Readmission Applications
- Readmission applications cannot be approved for students with active holds.

- If you intend to receive Financial Aid, contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships office before starting the readmission process.
