The Cinema and Digital Media major considers the impact of the intersection between music, performance, literature, media arts and the visual arts with science and technology. The major skillfully combines creative, innovative, and analytical work with practical hands-on applications for independent and experimental approaches to digital cinema and other screen-based work: film, soundscapes, community media, and Web-based work are all areas that students are able to pursue freely. Cinema and Digital Media students are able to pursue versatile multi- and inter- disciplinary roles with the skills they gain from the major; innovating areas in the arts, technology, or any space in between.

Requirements
As a cinema and digital media major you will begin with preparatory course work that will give you a solid introduction to the major. For upper division, students in the major choose from the following two emphases: creative production or critical studies. There is plenty of crossover between the two emphases and the mobility you'll enjoy among course offerings will allow you to design your own concentration as you work toward a final project.
