Bio

As a writer and media consultant, Ken White has designed, written and managed a variety of informational, promotional and entertainment projects in print, television and radio commercials, corporate communications, and new media for companies worldwide, including Sony Corporation, Lucasfilm, Ltd., Amblin' Productions, ABC Sports, Walt Disney Company, Bechtel Corporation, E. & J. Gallo Winery and Levi Strauss & Co. 

Mr. White retired from the worlds of advertising, corporate communications and interactive entertainment to concentrate on writing and community service. He has written novels, screenplays, short stories, stage plays, and children’s and nonfiction books. Most of Mr. White's stories are about his hometown of Modesto, California, and the Central Valley heartland. His most recent novel, Brighter Day, takes place in Davis in 1969.

He received his Associate of Arts at Modesto Junior College, his Bachelor of Arts and teaching credential at UC Davis, and his Master of Arts at San Francisco State University. Mr. White has taught mass communications and film appreciation at Modesto Junior College. 

Born in Lathrop and raised in Modesto, he continues to live in his hometown. He is married to wife Robin and has two adult stepsons, Tyler and Eric. Mr. White joined the Dean’s Advisory Council in 2022.
