Minor only
The minor in Linguistics for Language Teachers acts as a complement to the English major with a teaching emphasis. Students who are interested in teaching foreign languages, either on a primary or secondary level, will learn how to represent the structure of the various aspects of language (e.g. sounds or meaning), how to account for different linguistic patterns theoretically, and how the different components of language interact with each other. As future language teachers, students will focus on how to apply the principles of linguistics within social and educational contexts and how to use these concepts and techniques to develop written and oral skills.
