Faculty in the College of Letters and Science will provide students with global learning experiences and work on campus goals such as ending hunger and eradicating inequalities through grants from UC Davis Global Affairs.
The first encyclopedia to merge global history and LGBTQ history into one resource, edited by UC Davis historian Howard Chiang, was named the best reference source of 2019. The landmark "Global Encyclopedia of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) History" won the 2020 Dartmouth Medal, presented by the American Library Association.
Two faculty in the UC Davis College of Letters and Science were honored Thursday for their efforts to create new global learning opportunities for students — both on campus and abroad. Rachel Jean-Baptiste, an associate professor of history, received a Chancellor’s Award for International Engagement. Margherita Heyer-Cáput, a professor of Italian, received an inaugural Excellence in Teaching in Study Abroad Award.
