Karen Fulk Sculpture Series

In a series of ceramic works, Karen Calden Fulk (B.A., art, ’65) pursues what she describes as narrative art — applying  her experience as a caricature "quick draw" artist to sculpture. She says her work is deeply influenced by the classes she took from painter Wayne Thiebaud and sculptor Robert Arneson during her four years at UC Davis. Fulk also cites two fellow alumni — Peter VandenBerge (M.A., art, ’63) and Tony Natsoulas (B.A., ’82, M.F.A, ’85, art) — as inspirations. (All images courtesy of Karen Fulk)
