Julie McGilvray joined the College of Letters and Science Dean’s office in October 2021.  She holds a M.S. in Career Counseling from California State University, Sacramento.

Julie started at UC Davis at the Internship and Career Center an as intern, and worked as a major advisor in the UC Davis Arts Group for six years.

She is a facilitator for the Developing Deeper Advising Relationships (DDAR) Workshop series, a campus social justice training for advisors, and created the “Work of Art: Career Workshops for Students in the Arts” series. 

Julie remembers the excitement and challenges of begin a first year student, and has a passion for advising and supporting students in the process of discovering their path and achieving their goals.

When not at work Julie enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting art galleries, beach days, camping, cats, dancing and traveling.
