2017 - Sertan Usanmaz

Sertan Usanmaz (B.A., political science and international relations, ’17) is an associate government program analyst for the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee in the State Treasurer’s Office in Sacramento. Usanmaz works as a public inquiry coordinator for the CTCAC, which administers federal and state tax-credit programs aimed at encouraging private investment in affordable rental housing for low-income Californians. Usanmaz also serves as CTCAC liaison with the treasurer’s business services and executive office. His current fields of focus are affordable housing policy, budgets, personnel, administration and legal issues. As a UC Davis student, he completed two internships — one at the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce while he was enrolled in the UC Center Sacramento program in fall 2016, and the second in the Davis office of Rep. John Garamendi (D-Walnut Grove) during spring 2017. In addition to his double major, Usanmaz minored in managerial economics.
