Picnic Day April 13, 2019

This family friendly event is free for all to come and experience the richness of diversity and achievement at UC

Davis and the surrounding community in the areas of research, teaching, service and campus life. More than 200 events will take place throughout campus and will include exhibits, shows, competitions, demonstrations, entertainment, animal and athletic events, Student Organization Fair, Children’s Discovery Fair, Parade and much more. Parking is free.

Picnic Day is one of UC Davis’ most revered traditions and serves as the university’s annual Open House for prospective and current students, families, alumni, staff, faculty, and the greater Davis and regional communities. 

College of Letters and Science Picnic Day Events

The College hosts its own exciting events, presentations and exhibitions on Picnic Day, including the wildly popular Chemistry Show, the annual Fashion Show, free performances by the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, and hands-on activities in geology, physics, math and stats.

Are you excited for Avengers: Endgame? Did you want a refresher on the first film? Come join the Physics Club as Tony Quark and his young pupil Peter Plancker stop Thorium Americium Osmium (ThAmOs) from collecting the fundamental particles and altering reality. The chemistry show features spectacular demonstrations that reveal the amazing chemical reactions involved in everyday life. Weather permitting, hands-on exhibits will also be available in the Chemistry Courtyard. Come experiment with us! Fun for all ages!

Visit exhibits on Harry Potter, Whole Earth Festival, and the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. Try our scavenger hunt, then slow down with our train-themed coloring sheet. Pick up a free cookie or book jacket while they last!
