1997 - Tom Dyer

Portrait photoTom Dyer (B.A., philosophy, ’97) has been appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to the Yolo Superior Court bench.

Dyer, 44, of Sacramento, has served as Brown’s chief deputy legislative affairs secretary since 2015. He planned to keep working in that position until Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom is sworn in and Brown’s term ends on Jan. 7, 2019.

Dyer, who earned a juris doctor degree from the UC Davis School of Law in 2003, previously worked for a number of state agencies — the Department of Finance, Department of Personnel Administration, Department of Social Services and the California Fair Political Practices Commission — as well as for the Sutter County District Attorney’s Office.
