The recent suspension by the federal government of millions of dollars in research grants from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by the federal government’s $1 billion payment demand, wouldn’t just impact UCLA and the University of California. It would affect students, staff, faculty, patients and whole communities across both California and the nation, threatening critical research that leads to medical breakthroughs, drives economic innovation and helps feed America.
This is a critical moment for UC. We must stand together to protect the best public research university system in the world, our community and the future of higher education. To do this, the university has launched the Stand Up for UC campaign to share opportunities for advocacy and to keep our communities updated as developments unfold.
